As its title suggests, this is a shortened version (by 48 pages) of the mighty World Atlas of Wine.
Most of the “Growing Wine” and all of the “Making Wine” and “Enjoying Wine” sections of the original have been cut, but all the maps and text of “The World of Wine” have been retained. Essentially, this paperback version is a lighter and more travel-friendly version of the hardback, which is superbly informative but woefully cumbersome when used in the field—I eventually resorted to photocopying the relevant pages when I went driving in some wine region or other.
This “concise” edition is still quite hefty but hopefully it means no more photocopies.
